Anyway - He suggested going to the zoo. hmmm.... not his first choice, but he knows I like going. He loves me - he really loves me (said like Sally Field at the Emmys, haha - years ago - so you might not know what I'm talking about, lol)
Walking hand in hand at the zoo. Simple joy. I love it!
Ice cream stand 'oohhhh, I want an ice cream!" says Steve. "Want one?" I wasn't feeling much like ice cream, but I thought, 'sure'. Soft serve ice cream. Thought, 'surely its fine'. I asked the high school girl behind the counter who didn't appear to be as passionate about her job as I am about my career, lol.... Actually, she didn't look like she wanted to be there at all! She said - 'no' - it has gluten'. (although she did direct us to another stand that had gluten free ice cream. Now that was something.) Was this true? Did this soft serve ice cream have gluten? I wasn't going to risk it. Good thing I wasn't 'feelin it' - and didn't feel bad about not getting to eat that cool swirl of chocolate delight.
But its not always about the person who is unable to participate. Sometimes its about the simple joy of "sharing". How enjoyable is it to eat a cone you are really in the mood for when the person you're with can't have one? So its not just about not being able to 'have' but also about the person you're with not being able to 'share'.
Thank goodness - I was more in the mood for one of the Minute Maid frozen ice thing-a-ma-jigs. Yum - That was refreshing and delicous :) And our day at the zoo was perfect!
